Undocumented Visitors in a Pirate Sea

A 2014 Amazon Breakthrough Novel Award Quarterfinalist, Undocumented Visitors is described by a Truth Out reviewer as "blending history, UFO sightings, science fiction, sailing and travel lore, the fractures of the national security state and idiosyncrasies of border policing into a potent sort of literary beachside rum punch, complete with a happy paper parasol."

The story opens with a dead U.S. Marine washing ashore on the Caribbean island of St. John. With a flying saucer and the letters "JFK" tattooed on its chest, the corpse's only ID are Vietnam War era dog tags. Local police contact the U.S. Navy, raising concerns in Washington about retired Gunnery Sergeant Roger Baskins' death and tats.

Naval Intelligence hires St. Thomas based maritime history professor Thayer Harris to secretly investigate the Sergeant's death. He uncovers a 60-year record of UFO activity in the Caribbean basin including phenomenal events during the Cuban Missile Crisis, on the British island of Grenada and in other times and places.

In the process, Dr. Harris' sleuthing attracts the unwanted attention of menacing forces determined to halt his investigation.

Drawing on such credible sources as U.S. Navy records, declassified British and Russian UFO reports, the testimony of armed forces personnel and the first Prime Minister of independent Grenada, Undocumented Visitors in a Pirate Sea weaves a thrilling fictional tale out of compelling historical and scientific threads.
